To be fair, this memory probably belongs more to my brothers as they were more heavily involved in the dirty work of it, but they don't currently have a blog they are posting Christmas memories on, so here we go:
Many years ago somebody did the 12 Days of Christmas to my family. This involves secretly dropping off things on your doorstep for the 12 days leading up to Christmas. Things like chocolate turtles, french bread, Ben Gay for the poor sore Leaping Lords. Ever since then, every year my family has chosen 2 or 3 families and done the 12 Days of Christmas to them. (Why bother to pick just one, when you can complicate your life by having to do multiple drop offs each evening?) This little game of dropping off without getting caught has become quite a feat on several occasions, as people become intent on trying to catch you in the act. In fact one year, two families we were doing it do even tag teamed, working together to try to catch us. Now as I said, it is upon my brothers that the task of dropping and running primarily falls to and this complicated task has in the past involved such things as disguising themselves as Yoda, chucking the item from a moving car as they were unable to approach the house, even getting stopped by a cop wondering what they were doing running around a neighborhood in the dark wearing black. Maybe eventually my family will run out of people they know to do this to, or they will run out of sons home at Christmas time to make deliveries, but for now, the 12 Days of Christmas lives on.
Disclaimer: Sorry if my family is doing this to someone who is reading this and I have now ruined the surprise!
