Joshua's Birthday

On Wednesday, October 17th, Joshua turned 4. I've made it a tradition to not do big birthday parties with friends and such till they are 5, so this was just a family party. We went to Chuck E. Cheese for dinner. This is a favorite thing of the kids to do, and we don't do it too often so it is a special treat. Although, Joshua spent half the time cowering at our table because he is scared of the mouse. We keep telling him it's just a person wearing a costume and that it won't hurt him, but for some reason he's scared of it. We then came home and opened up presents and had cupcakes. He got some Scooby Doo books, a new and bigger toy box for his room, some clothes from Grandparents Singleton, a coloring book from Grandparents Kland, and a large car thing that drives by itself and very loudly plays a Ricky Martin song from Great Grandma Evans. This is a favorite of Ryan's to play with and he gets very upset when Joshua takes it away from him, with Joshua proclaiming, "It's mine!"

Ryan was pretty funny when we put him in his high chair and gave him a cupcake. He wasn't sure what to do with it. He kept leaning over it to examine it more closely, and cautiously touching it. He apparently did not like getting frosting on his hands. I had to feed it to him.
