Tonight for family night each of the kids got to pick out what cause they wanted to donate money to in lieu of getting so many Christmas presents themselves. David chose a flock of chickens and Joshua chose a share of a goat (Heifer International.) Emily donated to a clean water project and Ryan chose medical training/equipment (LDS Charities.) The kids seemed to really enjoy it and felt glad about doing it. I think this would make a good annual tradition for our family to help us remember to think more about others instead of only ourselves.

This is a great Idea. Our boys are doing that this year with thei friend instead of gifts they are doing a good deed for someone in thei buddy's honor.
