Christmas

Sorry this is so after the fact, but Christmas was busy and then we were out of town.

My 3 brothers all came up from Provo on Christmas Eve and spend the weekend with us. I put them in charge of dinner for Christmas Eve and they made some yummy chicken enchiladas. Then we reenacted the nativity story with everyone getting in on the action. The kids then opened one present and the presents that the boys brought up for them.

Christmas morning was a whirl wind of wrapping paper. When Ryan ran out of things to unwrap he started unwrapping his uncles' presents. Some present highlights: Emily got an Easy Bake Oven and Barbie styling salon, David got a Star Wars Lego set and a couple of Nerf guns, Joshua got a Spider Man web blaster and a couple of Nerf guns, Ryan got the Millennium Falcon and a Nerf guns and Benjamin got a ride on truck. Everyone had lots of fun playing with the Nerf guns! The kids also got quite a few great books, and a couple of more sleds. The hit item with David and Joshua was the Game Cube they got from Uncle Kyle (he no longer used it.)

We spent Christmas day playing with presents.

We did some sledding in the front yard and Joshua was especially crazy on the new round sled, smashing into the house and garbage cans without any qualms.

Saturday I spent running around trying to get ready to leave to go to Fresno. We all went bowling and then that night I got a babysitter and all the grown-up's went to the movie to see Avatar in 3-D. It was very good. Then after church on Sunday my brothers left and we headed to Fresno. We drove half-way to Las Vegas and spent the night at my sister's house and arrived in Fresno Monday afternoon. While in Fresno, we played lots of games, ate lots of food, went to the zoo and took the kids miniature golfing.

It was a very fun and busy couple of weeks. I'm so sad Christmas is now over, though it is kind of nice to be home and get back to normal. We got home at 3:30 am this morning from Fresno so now I have to clean up and recover from being gone a week, put all the Christmas stuff away and lose the 5 pounds I've gained in the last few weeks! So until next year, hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Years!
